The Kitsch Statue

There is certain artwork in St Pancras Station that has long irritated me; and about which, I assert, serious aesthetic objections can be raised. As it happens I used to meet up with an artist at this very location, prior to dining at the nearby Betjemen Arms, and she demanded that I 'cease and desist' with my derisory epithet. But then I'm not an artist, so what would I know.

Order from Disorder

A new reading of Jackson Pollock's Summertime, as a depetion of the emergence of life. Nature, by degrading an energy gradient creates ordered structures of low entropy, which is what life is in the thermodynamic sense.  Nonsentient, nonliving structures like hurricanes of tornadoes are the first step.
